How to Use iCan i3 CGM?

Preparation Steps (Before Insertion)

1. Download the iCan CGM App (search for “iCan CGM” or “iCGM” on the App Store or Google Play).
2. Create an account in the app using your email and set it up (follow in-app prompts for login, profile, and any initial settings like alerts).
3. Check the packaging: Ensure the sensor pack and transmitter pack have matching serial numbers (SN) — the first 8 digits should match.
4. Wash and dry your hands thoroughly.
5. Choose an insertion site: Typically the abdomen (middle area with enough fat) or back of the upper arm. Avoid scars, tattoos, bony areas, excessive hair, irritated skin, or sites near insulin injections/pumps (at least 7.5 cm away). Rotate sites between uses.

Clean the chosen site with a 75% alcohol swab and let it dry completely (do not use other cleaners).

Assembly and Insertion Steps (Matching Your Images)

These steps prepare and apply the sensor using the applicator:

1. Alignment Line up the blue mark on the Sensor Applicator with the mark (or tray) on the Transmitter pack/tray.
2. Pressing Firmly press the Sensor Applicator down into the tray until you hear a click and it stops (it arms/loads the sensor).
3. Unlock Gently turn the safety switch/rotary switch from the “Locked” icon to the “Unlocked” icon (usually counterclockwise) until you hear a loud click and it can’t turn further. This readies the insertion mechanism (do this only when ready to apply to avoid accidental needle exposure).
4. Insertion Place the armed applicator (with the sensor) over your chosen cleaned site. Press the button in the middle (or applicator button) firmly until you hear the insertion/injection sound (a click or pop indicating the sensor has been inserted under the skin). Pull the applicator straight up and away to remove it — the sensor and transmitter should now be attached to your skin via the adhesive patch.

After insertion:

• The sensor typically needs a warmup period (often ~2 hours) before it starts providing readings — the app will guide you.
• Adhere the patch fully and avoid touching the adhesive area.
• Start monitoring in the app: It shows real-time glucose every few minutes, trends, graphs, alerts for high/low levels, and allows adding events (meals, exercise, etc.).
